Independent, Unbiased Third-Party Asbestos Consultant

Michigan Asbestos Testing functions solely as an independent environmental consultant. We do not perform asbestos abatement or mold remediation. This separation ensures that all asbestos inspections, asbestos sampling, and mold testing services are performed without conflicts of interest.

Our findings are based on observed conditions, representative sampling, and laboratory analysis—not on selling removal or remediation services.

When Is Asbestos Testing Required in Michigan?

Asbestos testing and asbestos surveys are commonly required when suspect materials may be disturbed in buildings constructed prior to 1981. Federal requirements are established under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), which require asbestos inspections and notifications prior to certain renovation and demolition activities.

In Michigan, asbestos regulatory oversight and notification requirements are administered by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). Failure to perform required asbestos testing can result in project delays, stop-work orders, and regulatory violations.
